Modern Business has been a consistent vendor of Augusta University for over twenty years. From laboratories, to faculty offices, to student success centers, our team has worked closely with multiple departments across several campus locations to create some amazing spaces.
Academic Success Center (ASC) - Summerville Campus
When you have a budget deadline and need a solution quickly, Modern Business can make miracles happen. We worked with Studio 3 Design Group and Augusta University Facilities, to develop detailed drawings, a complete presentation package, and final proposal in less than a week for this space to meet their budget deadline. The ASC offers free support services for AU students including tutoring, academic coaching, and success workshops. It is also open as a space for general study. The concept was to offer places for one-on-one sessions as well as larger group study areas while maintaining a comfortable, student-friendly environment.
Benet House - Summerville Campus
The AU Summerville campus features some of the most gorgeous historical buildings Augusta has to offer. The Benet House is now home to Augusta University Admissions. It was completed by 1829, as one part of original buildings of the United States Arsenal. This space beautifully blends historic details with the requirements demanded of a modern office space.
Medical College Laboratories - Health Science Campus
The Medical College of Georgia was in need of a modular lab that had all of the bells and whistles, and Modern Business certainly delivered. We used a sustainable system that provided antimicrobial worksurfaces, fully enclosed casework, shelving, power drying racks, eye wash stations, and so much more! The students, researchers, and faculty can easily reconfigure their lab space to adapt with their different needs.
College of Dental Medicine - Health Sciences Campus
Modern Business worked with the Dental College’s building managers for years on individual offices when they got the opportunity to have their own, state of the art, brand new building. Because of the consistent quality of services provided over the years, Modern Business was awarded to be the sole furniture vendor for the new building. The Dental College is the state’s only dental college and has graduated nearly 2,500 students to date. They also provide care to over 50,000 patients each year. The building includes faculty offices, classrooms, patient waiting areas, treatment rooms, two operating rooms, and an art gallery in 269,000 square feet of Silver LEED-certified space. The building won engineering and construction management awards for best project.
